Who am I?

I'm a curious researcher with both MD and PhD degrees. I have been involved in exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform medical education. In this process, I have developed the first custom GPT specifically tailored for multiple-choice question generation in medical education, which has been published in Medical Teacher. This innovation is just a small demonstration of what AI can offer, and it's my pleasure to share the insights in my way of exploration directly to you through this newsletter.

Why This Newsletter?

As medical educators, we sometimes miss the latest advancements in technology that could help us in teaching and assessment. The pace at which AI and other technologies evolve is staggering, and academic literature simply cannot keep up because of the slow peer-review process. We also miss many of the published papers on AI and medical education. Recognizing these gaps, I started this newsletter to bridge the divide by bringing both the current and published information to you.

What to Expect?

MedEdFlamingo’s Newsletter will focus mostly on AI in medical education to provide you with the latest capabilities and practical tips to enhance your teaching and assessment practices. In addition to AI content, I’ll share non-AI knowledge that are equally beneficial for your educational strength in medical education.

While there is no fixed schedule for the newsletters, I promise that each edition will be packed with value to ensure you receive only the most relevant and hopefully beneficial information. This flexible scheduling allows us to adapt quickly to new developments.
